Miami: The peak of Florida Panhandle is under a tropical storm warning after Mindy’s tropical storm makes the land on Wednesday night.
The storm touched on the island of St Vincent, about 15 km southwest of Apalachicola, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Mindy can cause 15 centimeters of rainfall throughout the Panhandle Florida and the portion of South Georgia and South Carolina until Thursday morning, said the National Storm Center.
Flash, urban, and scattered small floods are possible.
Mindy’s arrival only happened a few hours after it had been strengthened into a tropical storm on Wednesday night.
The storm has a sustainable maximum wind of 75 km / h and moves to the northeast at 33 km / h, the wordecon said.
The tropical storm warning applies from Mexico coast, Florida, to the east of Steinhatchee River.
The area was around 500 kilometers east of South Louisiana, where the Ida storm made the land last month.
This region is still recovering from a deadly and destructive category 4 storm.
Mindy is a storm called 13th of what is a busy Atlantic storm season.
According to Tweet from Colorado State University Hurricane Researcher Phil Klotzbach, the average date for the storm called the 13th of 1991-2020 was October 24.
