Hyderabad: Former MP V Hanumanth Rao from Congress on Saturday demanded that the state government should buy all rice produced by farmers in the Vanakalam season and try to convince farmers that Congress will stand next to them until the last rice item is obtained at Rs 1,960 per Quintal minimum support price (MSP).
Accompanied by the leader of the Senior Party Asif Pasha, the President of the President and Head of the City Party of B Rajesh, Hanumanth Rao visited the rice points of the farmers in Palakurthi Village on Saturday Peddapalli on Saturday.
With hundreds of quintals of rice lying not proven, he slept on a pile of rice as a sign of protest and refused to wake up to officials starting to buy rice.
Congress members raised the slogan against the Government of Trs and BJP, embraced the two parties responsible for leaving farmers where they were worried.
Hanumanth Rao said the lakh ton of rice was brought to the procurement centers by farmers but the government deliberately postponed his purchase.
“Some pile of rice lay near the procurement center in the village of Palakurthi and it has not been obtained from the last 23 days,” he said.
Then, the local Sadandam Tahsildar reached the place and began the procurement of rice after that Hanumanth Rao and party leaders left the place.
