Truck with 500kg crackers confiscated in Gurugram

Gurugram: A truck loaded with more than 500 kilograms of firecrackers filled in plastic sacks was intercepted by the Gurugram police team on Wednesday before it could reach Delhi, where the consignment must be reduced at various points.
His driver and assistant, who allegedly transported crackers from Rajasthan, had been arrested, police said.
Sales and burning firecrackers have been banned either in the capital and in the city NCR because of the high level of pollution but, as reported by TOI on Wednesday, its sales continued on the black market with orders taken online and sent to local dealers and even to individual homes.
According to the police, the Sector 10 crime unit has received a tip-off that a truck loaded with firecrackers is parked in the Shivaji Nagar area.

“We have credible information but do not have details such as vehicle registration numbers and make it.
So, we searched the area and check all trucks loaded around it and finally see one parked near failed.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime) Preet PAL Sagwan told TOI that shipping will be sent in five different locations in Delhi.
“Allegations have planned to cross to the capital after midnight.
As sales crackers are prohibited in Delhi-NCR, people have chosen to smuggle them from the districts and countries nearby,” said ACP, added that the police tried to find out whether the supplier had a license Valid to sell and supply firecrackers.
The case has also been registered in the IPC 188 section (disobedience of a command that was legally announced as a civil servant) and explosives acted at the Shivaji Nagar police station.
After the Delhi pollution control committee (DPCC) imposed “complete ban” on the sale, storage, and the use of firecrackers until January 1, 2022, the Haryana government on October 31 imposed the same limitation in 14 districts under the national capital.
