Washington: As much as the world remembered Colin Powell with respect and affection, Donald Trump on Tuesday attacked the deceased of the United States, called it a unloyal Republic who made a war case in Iraq.
Powell, who died 84 years old on Monday, often criticism against Trump and called him to resign after the January 6 Capitol rebellion was deposited by the President at that time.
“Great to see Colin Powell, who made a big mistake in Iraq and was famous, called weapons of mass destruction, treated in death so beautifully by fake news media.
Hope that happened to me someday,” Trump said sarcastically in a statement.
Powell, who was the first black secretary of the United States, died of complications from Covid-19 after suffering from cancer.
He extensively praised the national war hero, global diplomats and African-American leaders traces.
Trump Branded Powell A “Classic Rino” – Republican Party Name only – and added, “He made a lot of mistakes, but anyway, hopefully he rested calmly!” Powell found it difficult to live a February 2003 speech at the UN Security Council on the alleged existence of weapon of mass destruction in Iraq – evidence which later proved wrong.
Trump rarely refrained from attacking former enemies and even immediately after their death.
After Senator John McCain died in 2018, Trump repeatedly underestimated the Arizona Republic who was very admired which was also among the most fierce defects.
“I have to be honest: I have never loved it too much,” said Trump about McCain in one address in Ohio which is nominally about the increase in work in manufacturing.
