Dumka: Cobas 6,800 engine, which is considered important in Covid testing, in Phulo Jhano Medical College and hospitals in Dumka have not worked well since it was assigned in September this year, said the hospital source.
“Because of the unavailability of labor and technical obstacles, the Cobas engine does not work well,” said the Drumka Civil Surgeon Dr.
Bachha Prasad Singh told upscale machines, try to test more than 1,300 swab samples in a matter of hours.
When Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren inaugurated the engine a few weeks ago, he said the machine would be proven to be a gift for early detection of Covid-19 and helped prevent bursts in Covid cases in Dumka and the district side by side from Santhal-Pargana.
As a result, hospitals were forced to send covid samples to RT-PCR tests to Patliputra Medical College and Hospital, Dhanbad and Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi.
“We have sent 5,000 and 8,000 samples to PMCH and rims, respectively, the results are awaited,” Dr.
Singh said.
After rims, this is the second cobas machine that will be installed in Jharkhand.
The government has imposed a cost of 8.73 crore to get the machines for Dumka and Ranchi.
