Gurgaon: A group of men attacked the police who went to stop the sale of illegal liquor in the old Gurgaon on Wednesday.
The police were attacked with bricks and sticks.
A police team was patrolling the night when they received information about the sale of illegal liquor near the ammunition depot.
Acting on this information, a team went to the place and found someone who sold liquor outside his shop.
When the police asked him about the sale of the liquor’s liquor took the argument with the police and called his colleagues.
Within minutes, around 18-20 people, including women, gathered in place and began attacking the police.
The Head of Constables Rajesh and Balwant from the Sector 5 Police Station was near Chhotu Ram Chowk when they received information about the sale of illegal liquor near the ammunition depot.
“We reached the place and found someone who sold liquor outside his shop, when we asked him to abuse us and called his colleagues,” Rajesh said added that a group of people gathered and attacked them.
Based on complaints, a case is registered in the relevant part of the IPC at the Sector Police Station 5.
