Tsunami Warning After 8.2 Mag Earthquake on the Alaska Peninsula

The shallow earthquake with magnitude 8.2 crashed into the Alaska Peninsula on Wednesday, pushing a tsunami warning in the region, the authorities said.
US geological survey (USGS) said the earthquake, which hit at 10:15 a.m.
(0615 GMT Thursday), is at a depth of 35 km.
In Alaska, the National Tsunami Memorial Center (NTWC) issued a warning for the southern part, the peninsula, and the Pacific coastal area from the entrance to Hinchinbrook to Unimak Pass.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) issued a warning to the State of the US Hawaii and the Pacific Region of the US Guam.
NTWC said that it was evaluating the level of tsunami danger for other US and Canadian coastal areas.
The European-Mediterranean Seismology Center (EMSC) estimates the earthquake on the amount of 8.0 and a depth of 10 km.
USGS previously set a magnitude of the earthquake at 7.2.
