PORTO (Portugal): Chelsea are defined to be in full strength for Saturday’s Champions League final against Manchester City together with N’Golo Kante along with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy having fully shaken off injury issues in the run-up into the match.
“Best news : no harms and let us hope it stays like that until following coaching now,” trainer Thomas Tuchel told reporters in a media conference on Friday before his squad’s closing work-out before the game at the Estadio do Dragao.
France midfielder Kante missed Chelsea’s last match of the Premier League season at Aston Villa last weekend for a precaution after limping from their 2-1 win against Leicester City five times before with a hamstring issue.
Mendy, that has been excellent since registering from Rennes in the start of the year, was substituted by Kepa Arrizabalaga in half-time from Villa after suffering a knee injury after he collided with a pole.
Meanwhile there was a concern for Pep Guardiola’s City since midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was envisioned limping from the final training session to the pitch in Porto.
The German international will be City’s best scorer this year with 17 goals in all competitions.
