Tunnels connect the red fortress, Delhi assembly found

New Delhi: structures such as tunnels found in the Delhi legislature on Thursday.
The Legislative Legislative speaker RAM Niwas Goo said that the tunnel connects the legislative assembly to the red fortress and used by British people to avoid retaliation while transferring freedom fighters.
“When I became MLA in 1993, there was news of the wind about the tunnel present here who went to the red fortress and I tried to find history.
But there was no clarity on it,” he said.
“Now we have gotten the mouth of the tunnel but we don’t explore further because all the tunnel lanes have been destroyed because of the Metro project and gutter installations,” he added.
Goel further informed that Delhi’s legislative assembly, which was used as a Central Legislative Council after a capital shift from Kolkata to Delhi in 1912, was transformed into a court in 1926 and Britishers used this tunnel to bring the fighters of freedom to court.
“We all know about the presence of hanger space here but never open it.
Now the 75th year of independence and I decided to check the room.
We intend to change the room to be a temple of freedom fighters as award for them.,” He said.
The assembly speaker added that considering the history of the Delhi legislature associated with the independence of the state, he intends to open the hanger space for tourists with the next independence day and the work for the same has begun.
“This place has a very rich history in the context of freedom struggle.
We intend to renovate it in a way that tourists and visitors can gain a reflection of our history,” he said.
