Turkey called for Israel’s’ sensitivity to Palestine

Ankara: Turkey, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was open to improve relationships with Israel, but the country must first show the “more sensitive” policy towards Palestine.
Erdogan told a group of journalists in Qatar at the end of Tuesday that a better relationship with Israel would be “profitable” for peace in a wider area.
“But at this point, Israel must be more sensitive about his Palestinian policy.
It is necessary to sensitive about Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa mosques,” he said referring to the holy hilltop compounds for Jews and Muslims.
“As soon as we detect sensitivity, we will do our best and take steps (for better bonds),” Erdogan said.
Turkish leaders’ comments were reported by Anadolu agents managed by the Government and other Turkish media on Wednesday.
Once a strong regional allied, the relationship between Israel and Turkey was frayed throughout Erdogan’s term, where Turkish leaders had become critics bluntly on Israeli policies against Palestinians.
Israel, for its part, was annoyed by Erdogan’s warm relationship with Hamas, militant groups that controlled the Gaza Strip.
Israel considers Hamas a terror group.
Countries attracted their ambassador in 2010 after Israeli forces stormed Gaza’s bound fleets carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians who solve the Israeli blockade.
The incident resulted in the death of nine Turkish activists.
Relationships strike again in 2018, after Turkey, angry with the US moved his embassy to Jerusalem, once again given his ambassador from Israel, encouraging Israel to reply.
However, in the signs of improvement, Erdogan recently held a telephone call with Israeli President of Israen Herzog and with Naftali Bennett – where the New Israeli Prime Minister thanked Turkey’s leader for his role in the release of Israeli pair arrested in Istanbul because he was suspected Spying.
The steps towards the recovery of relations with Israel came when Turkey had tried to end its international isolation by normalizing its troubled bond with several countries in the region, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
