Istanbul: Panic tourists in Turkey rushed to the beach to wait for the rescue boat after being told to evacuate several hotels in the Bodrum Aegean Sea resort because of the dangers caused by the nearest forest fires, Turkish media reported.
The coast guard unit leads the operation and authorities asking for a private ship and cruise ship to help evacuate efforts from the sea when the new forest fires erupted.
A video shows plum smoke and fire envelop the hill close to the beach.
The death toll from a raging forest fires in the Turkish Mediterranean cities rose to six on Saturday after two forest workers were killed, said the state health minister.
Fire throughout Turkey since Wednesday has burned forests and several settlements, penetrating villages and tourist destinations and forcing people to be evacuated.
The Russian news agency Sputnik said more than 100 Russian tourists had been evacuated from Bodrum and were transferred to a new hotel.
In one Bodrum fire video filmed from the sea, a man who helped evacuation was stunned at the speed of the fire, said: “This is amazing, just extraordinary.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, said on Saturday that 91 out of 101 fires broke out in the middle of strong winds and scorched heat were controlled.
The affected environment of fire in five provinces was declared disaster zone.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited several affected areas on Saturday, checking the damage from the helicopter.
Speaking from the city of Manavgat, Erdogan announced that the Turkish government would cover rent for people affected by fire and rebuild their homes.
He said taxes, social security and credit payments will be postponed for those affected and small businesses will be offered credit with zero flowers.
“We cannot do anything but hope God’s sorry for the life we have removed but we can replace everything that is burned,” he said.
Erdogan said the number of aircraft fighting was increased from six to 13, including aircraft from Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran, and that thousands of Turkish personnel and dozens of helicopters and drones helped fire fighting efforts.
In his speech from Marmaris on Saturday night, Erdogan said one of the fire there was started by children and there.
Other investigations are underway.
At least five people died of fire in Manavgat and one died in Marmaris.
Both cities are the Mediterranean tourist destination.
Tourism is an important source of income for Turkey, and business owners hope that this summer will be a lot.
Better than last year, when the limitation of traveling pandemic causes tourism to fall.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said 400 affected by fire at Manavgat was treated in the Hospit Als and was released, while 10 others were still hospitalized due to a fire injury.
In Marmaris, 159 people were hospitalized and one person was still undergoing treatment for burns.
In South Hatay Province, the fire jumped into a population but was later declared a control.
Forest fires are common in the Mediterranean and Turkish Aegean regions during the arid summer months.
