Istanbul: Turkish authorities ordered the detention of 158 military personnel for alleged their relationship with a failed coup in 2016, NTV Broadcasters reported on Tuesday.
Security forces launched a wide scale operation in 41 provinces simultaneously based on the command of the prosecutor in the province of Izmir Western Turkey and detained 97 suspects, according to the report.
The prosecutor concluded in their investigation that the suspects, including soldiers on active tasks and former military school students, had accused connections with the network led by the US-based Turkish Turkish scholars.
The Turkish government blamed Gulen and its network to drive a coup offer in July 2016, where 250 people were killed.
