Ankara: Turkey called the 10th ambassador of the country, including Germany and the United States, after they requested the release of a civil society leader, Turkish diplomatic said Tuesday.
Philanthropic and Paris-born Activist Osman Kavala, 64, have been in prison without confidence since 2017 in cases that have ferred tensions with the West.
Turkish activists faced a series of charges related to the 2013 anti-government protest and the failed Military Putsch in 2016.
Kavala denied the allegations.
The groups of rights and several Western governments viewed his detention as a symbol of the president to receive intolerance of Tayyip Erdogan’s growing growing.
In a statement Monday, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and the US called for “new and fast resolutions for the case”.
