Twin city residents remain indoors despite ‘sankranti curry’

Dharwad: Almost complete silent in commercial hubs that are crowded in twin cities reflect on the willingness of the residents of Hubballi-Dharwad to comply with the limits imposed up to weekend hours.
Spurt in Covid-19 cases in all districts has also been quoted as one reason that can prevent people from adventuring outside on Saturday.
Even though it was the day after Makara Sankranti, which was celebrated as ‘Sankranti Kari’ in North Kartnataka, residents appeared content to take part in celebrations among family members in their homes.
Meanwhile is a habit for people to visit the field or edge of the lake, where the rituals are usually carried out by Mark Sankranti Kari, most of the population of the twins have completed this ritual on Friday, to prevent having to move outside on Saturday .
Just as last week, shops that sell fruits, vegetables, fuel stations, hospitals and clinics remain open, while the restaurant offers takeaway services.
However, most restaurants reported a bad business, because very few orders came.
Subhas Road, among the busiest highways in Dharwad, witnessed very little traffic, while the Rapid Transit System (BRTS) bus terminal wore a lonely display, with several buses.
Both BRTS and North West Karnataka Road Transport Transport (NWKRTC) operate very little buses on Saturdays.
Meanwhile, the police had placed a barricade on several ways to prevent crowding.
The old PB road in the heart of Dharwad witnessed a little without the movement of people from dawn to dusk.
Apart from the adherence of the people, the police intensified patrols on the streets in twin cities, more in densely populated areas, where those found wandering for no legal reasons asked to go home.
