Ludhiana: City Girls Gauri Joshi and the twin brother Garima won a gold and silver medal, respectively in the state-level field archery championship held at Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on Sunday.
Garima and Garima (both of them 13 years old) participated under – 14 categories of round india arc.
There are five rounds that carry a maximum of 25 points in each round.
Gauri gets 107 points and Garima secures 104 points from 125 points, to pocket two top points.
The tournament witnessed archers from Sangrur, Moga, Amritsar, Pathankot, and other parts of Punjab participating in different age groups and arc categories namely Indian rounds, recurve, and compounds.
Tournaments (men and women) are held at Panjab University.
After being unbeaten in the first three rounds, he went down in the semifinals.
He also won a gold medal in another competition, the e-story championship in Ryu’s Gou style held by the World Union Martial Art Federation in October.
The championship was held in Brazil and the results were announced on December 8.
Khushdeep Kaur and Raj Kunwar Singh school students also participated in the event.
