Ahmedabad / Vadodara: Last week, Ahmedabad based on Jivaya Charity Trust (JCT) was approached to receive their care, Alsatian puppies found left on the road.
Puppies cannot walk and are very weak and lack of nutrition.
“At present, take care in our shelter and undergo physiotherapy.
It’s better and healthier, we will start finding a home for a puppy,” said Gira Shah, managing Trustees, JCT.
Shah himself adopted a dalmatian puppy earlier this year, which has been abandoned in the center of the JCT Panjrapole with vaginal infections.
“There was a lump behind him and he couldn’t even sit down.
It took him 25 days to calm down and it had to undergo a broad treatment before he was healthy.
I was very touched by the way he responded to care and became friendly that I adopted it,” Shah added.
Buying and adopting pets becomes a Post Lockdown trend because people think pets will keep them companies and help defeat lonely.
But warmth towards hairy friends is indeed too short.
Harish Patil, who has a pet shop at Vadodara, said that in recent months, he has helped adopt at least seven pets like that.
“Many people felt lonely during the locking last year and decided to buy pets.
Initially it was easier because they worked from home.
But when their office was continued, they could not keep pet work and handle,” said Patil.
“A pet dog is like a child who must be maintained throughout the day.
It’s not easy.
So, those who buy dogs in the past year have begun to sell it or give it to be adopted,” Patil added.
In another case, the PFA (people for animals) got a rescue call on Labrador dogs with collars and ropes thrown away in the ditch.
“The dog’s eyes were infected with maggots.
There were chains and collars that clearly mean it was abandoned by someone.
We got a dog to our shelter at Ahmedabad, treating infection and making it caring.
He was very pleasant now and recently adopted by a full family Love, “said Mahendra Shrimali, Secretary, PFA.
Rescuers say that bad awareness, give up on the trend encourage people to adopt, even buy dogs from farmers but in many cases, dogs are often abandoned or give up on shelter for further adoption.
Jignesh Brahmakshatriya, who runs a pet dog hostel in the city, has a similar experience a few months ago.
“Two residents came to my hostel and lowered their two pet dogs by saying that they would take it after a few days.
When they didn’t return for days, I called them.
They say they don’t need another dog because they can’t provide enough Time, “said Brahmakshatriya.
