Palo Alto: Twitter Inc.
on Thursday announced the launch of a tool where the user can show off non-fungible (NFTS) tokens as a picture of their profile, tapping into a digital collection of digital collections that have exploded over the past year.
Features, available on iOS to users subscribe to Blue Twitter company, connect their Twitter account to the Crypto wallet where the user stores NFT holdings.
CryptocurrencyLivetwitter displays NFT’s profile picture as Hexagon, distinguishes it from the standard circle available to other users.
Tapping the image pushes details about art and ownership arises.
Like other technology companies, Twitter rushed to cash the Crypto trend such as NFTS, speculative asset types authenticate digital items such as images, videos and land in the virtual world.
Last year’s social media platform added functionality for users to send and receive Bitcoin.
NFTS sales reached around $ 25 billion in 2021, according to data from Debradar market trackers, although there are signs of slowing growth towards the end of the year.
Supporters of “Web3” technology such as NFTS said they decentralized ownership online, creating roads for users to earn money from popular creations, rather than having increased benefits of a handful of technology platforms.
The critics dismissed the decentralization claim, noting that many services pushed the adoption of the technology – such as six Crypto wallets supported by NFT Twitter products – supported by a small group of venture capitalists.
In a broad-scheduled tweet after launch, Jane Manchun Wong security researcher highlighted one of the links, showing how blackouts in the NFT market supported by Opensea venture to temporarily block NFFTs from loading on Twitter.
