New Delhi: In the midst of regulatory issues and laws in India, micro-blogging giant Twitter found himself caught in another controversy when the Blue Badge Verified to the Electronic State Minister and Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s account was removed for a while, before being restored in a few hours.
Mix-up in verified new minister on Twitter (via a blue check) occurs after it changes the user name on the platform from @rajeev_mp to @rajeev_goi.
Changes in the username, according to the Twitter policy, can cause loss of verified badges.
“As explained in the Twitter verification policy, if the account holder changes their username, Twitter can automatically delete the blue verified badge of the account …
We relate to the minister’s office and work quickly to recover the blue badge verified,” the company said when contacted on this problem.
When this problem was revealed during the day, online chat began to get harder on whether Twitter actions could be attributed to tense relationships with the government, which had increased after the introduction of new IT rules.
However, through a quick resolution of this problem, Twitter – which now shows the willingness to comply with new regulations – seems to clarify that there is no relationship between regulatory problems and the removal of a blue check.
The latest events, however, came a few weeks after Twitter had briefly blocked the previous account and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for violations of American copyright law in one of his tweets.
The same law was also blamed for the same (short) action on the account of the leader of the senior Congress and Chairman of the Committee remained on it Shashi Tharoor whose account was also locked temporarily for the tweet that brought the video boneym song “Rasputin”.
Such actions are rarely rarely not infrequently with Twitter, which are often accused of homepage and opaque after making sudden and controversial changes to strong stories.
In November 2020, the minister of the Minister of Home Amit Shah was temporarily locked temporarily, and the image display was removed in response to “Report from Copyright Holders”.
The action was reversed immediately, and the company called it “unintentional error”.
In June this year, Twitter has also deleted the ‘blue check’ verification of VPAIAH Naidu’s personal account, and the Head of RSS Mohan Bhagwat and several senior senior functionaries.
The action was immediately reversed after Rona and cried from the Sangh and BJP leaders.
Twitter said the decision was asked because there was no activity on the account.
