NEW DELHI: Social networking programs, such as Twitter, have”no alternative” but also to comply with India’s new Information Technology Rules for electronic press, the Delhi high court said Monday.

However, the Centre contested the claim.

The HC stated it would analyze the issue when the answers were at by the next date of hearing in July.
The petitioner, Amit Acharya, during urge Akash Vajpai sought a direction to the Centre and also Twitter to guarantee compliance with all the IT Rules whose designation (C) states that each and every Substantial Social Media Intermediary must create a Resident Grievance Officer, who will be accountable for its purposes.
