New Delhi: Even when the Twitter account Rahul Gandhi remains locked for more than five days, the microblogging site on Wednesday night suspends a number of members of the Congress, including the Secretary General (Organization) of KC Venugopal, AICC OfficeBearers Ajay Maken, Sushmita Dev and Randeep Surjewala and Lok Sabha MP and AICC Telangana in Manickam Tagore fees.
Handle Twitter Personal staff Rahul KB BYJU was also suspended.
In each case, the notification issued is that the content was found by violations of Twitter rules and users were asked to appeal if he thought it was wrongly locked.
Rahul’s account was suspended after the government complained that he had violated the law by posting a picture of a family of a little girl who was raped and killed.
A new account also seems to have been suspended in the same complaint.
All users whose accounts have been suspended have joined the “Main Bhi Rahul” campaign, launched after Rahul met the girl.
AICC spokesman Pranav Jha said the responsibility for this “illegal action” on the Twitter account of the Congress leaders lay with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government.
He also blamed Twitter.
