Vadodara: City police beat two people for allegedly stealing 80,000 cash from a man when he was in a bank in the busy Mandvi area in the city.
The incident took place on January 17 when Arvind Patel, an employee of spice traders in the city, had gone to the Mandvi Branch of Baroda Bank to deposit cash amounting to RS 80,000 companies.
The man took the token and stood in the queue when cash was stolen.
According to Patel, a man came to him when he was in the queue and asked for the Patel form.
Patel filled out the form and when the turn came, he realized that the bag where the bag containing cash was kept open with sharp objects and the bag was gone.
A violation was registered by the City Police Station on Friday.
Investigation revealed that the automatic becak was used by the defendant.
It was up to one Sanuhasan Diwan, a resident of Dabhoi Road in the city, and one Ranjit Bavri from Gandhinagar was involved in the incident.
The police held charges and recovered cash, automatic rickshaws and telephones used to commit crimes.
The total value of the seizure is estimated at Rs 1.36 lakh.
