Thiruvananthapuram: Police Kilimanoor on Sunday arrested two men in connection with the alleged theft of valuables from a temple.
The police identified the defendant as Thomas, 55, and Biju, 35, from Vamanapuram.
The police said the two men were arrested on charges of alleged theft of valuables from the Kalaukanipara Temple below the Kilimanoor Police Station.
The ban includes gold and bronze ornaments used to decorate idols and cash worth Rs 7,000 stored in a desk drawer in the temple trust office.
The police tracked and arrested the defendant after an investigation involving recording camera recording in the surrounding area and the activities of used stores in the Kilimanoor region.
The police found several booster at the Memo shop near the following kilimanoor which they could track the defendant.
After the arrest, the two men claimed to do similar theft in other temples inside and around Kilimanoor.
They were arrested by a team led by Kilimanoor Station House Officer Inspector S Sanooj and Sub-Inspector of Vijith K Nair under the supervision of Attingal DSP D S Suneesh Babu.
