Tirupur: The rural police arrested two BJP functionaries on Thursday because they attacked a man during the human chain protest held by the BJP to condemn security violations amid Prime Minister Narendra visits to Punjab.
The police have ordered five BJP functionaries again in connection with this case.
The people who were arrested were identified as Ramesh, the BJP wing youth in Vadugapalayam and Rajkumar, was responsible for the BJP Palladam Union.
“Duo, along with five BJP members, attacked Muthusamy’s fruit vendors for making comment degrading against Modi during the human chain protest in front of the Palladam Bus Stand on Wednesday,” said a police officer.
The police also registered a case against Muthusamy in connection with the incident.
