Daltonganj: Two men were arrested from Chilho Pahia under the Tarhassi police station to kidnap one Mahboob Ansari (25) earlier this month, police said on Thursday.
The victim was also saved from the same place, which is located about 30 km from his residence.
Both of them were defendants, identified as Arjun Bhuiyan and Sudhir Bhuiyan, returned to Judicial custody on Friday.
Two cellphones were confiscated from ownership.
Others were accused of this case, identified as Kalam Ansari which was the mastermind behind the kidnapping, still escaping “Kalam desired in several other cases in Palamu,” The officer responsible for the station Panki station, H Gupta, said, adding that even though Kalam was Owned by Palamu, he has been operating from Lohardaga for fear of being arrested.
The victim is a dukun village that also works as a facilitator to issue a luxury credit card.
On January 12, he came out for his regular work when he was kidnapped from the area under the office of the Panki Police.
Then that night, Ansari’s family member then filed a lost diary at the local police station.
On January 13, his family received a call from one of the kidnappers who asked for RS 2 Lakh ransom.
When the family pays a portion of the ransom through the digital platform – ‘Fonepe’ – it helps the police in tracking the duo and they are arrested within 48 hours.
