Two cases of omicron again reported in Kerala take tally to 7

Thiruvananthapuram: Two Omicron cases have been reported in the state.
Both are husbands and wives from Sharjah to Ernakulam on December 8 since the UAE have not been included in the list of high-risk countries, these two people experience self isolation.
With this in Kerala 3 people from high-risk countries have been tested positive for Omicron.
The third person is who comes from Congo to Ernakulam.
The total number of Omicron cases reported in the country is now 7.
Because symptoms of husband and wife develop symptoms, RT-PCR tests are carried out on December 11 and tested positively.
Then their sample was sent for genome sequencing at the Biotechnology Center of Rajiv Gandhi.
In the omicron variant of this virus is detected.
According to the details collected, there are 6 people in the husband’s contact list and one person in the wife’s contact list.
On the plane there are 54 passengers and those who have come to close contact with them have been identified.
All of these people will be tested and isolated.
Health Minister Veena George told those who came from high-risk countries to actually go to quarantine seven days and finish RT PCR at eight days.
Even if this test is negative, they have to go to quarantine seven more days at home.
For those who come from other countries, they also have to go for self isolation for two weeks, he added.
