Rajkot: In the tragic incident, two children, aged 14 years and over and four years, was destroyed to death by the speeding SUV near the city of Porbandar on Tuesday.
Aarti Gohel and his cousin’s brother Mit Gohel walked to an informal road school run by their community in Degam Village, 15 km from Porbandar, around 8:30 a.m.
Every minute after they left home, the SUV had hit them from behind.
That’s the impact that Aarti was thrown almost 15 feet in the air and her and MIT died in place.
The driver of the car, Sajid Nazir Hussian Kathiri, then lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into the vehicle to the wall of the Community Hall.
However, he managed to escape from the place.
Police arrested Kathiri, 26, a resident of Gandhi Park in Porbandar.
The car was registered in his father’s father’s name Nazir.
They use to rent this car to make a living.
Bagvadar police said the five-year-old girl was Khushali Gohel, who also went with children, suffering serious and medium injuries in care at Porbandar Hospital.
The police also received CCTV recordings from incidents that showed that he was very speeding.
