New Delhi: Two Delhi-based doctors were allegedly attacked by locals in Gautam Budh Nagar after the argument was heated on the spread of Covid-19 in the district, Delhi police said on Wednesday.
This incident occurred at night a doctor, who was celebrated in the country on Thursday.
Delhi police in a statement said doctors – one from the Institute of Indian Medicine (AIIMS) and the second of Safdarjung Hospital – treated in the center of AIims Trauma on Thursday with several head injuries.
“On Wednesday, some doctors went to the Bhagat Singh Shop Versal Paranthe Walla in Gautam Nagar and allegedly consuming alcohol in the store with Bhagat Singh.
The argument occurred between the doctor and shopkeeper and after both parties attacked each other,” said the police.
The doctors allegedly “tempt by saying they spread Corona”, which leads to the argument.
The police said along with two doctors, and the shopkeeper of Bhagat Singh Verma, his son Abhishek also suffered an injury during a fight.
“The statement of the two parties is being recorded and legal action will be taken,” police added.
