Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad’s police on Monday arrested two members of the vehicle lifting gang between countries.
The arrest has caused the recovery of two stolen cars (Swift) used to commit crimes recently.
The police have not arrested the gang leader.
The police said the gang had stolen hundreds of cars in recent years.
The defendant was identified as Sonu Kumar and Ram Kumar, both of them from Ghaziabad.
Ravindr Kumar, Loni Police Office Sub-Inspector, said that the gang targeted upscale cars and supplied them to various people in places like Prayagraj and Muzaffarnagar.
He added that two teams had been formed to catch gang gang.
“The gang uses the engine and chassis of the number of vehicles that have been involved in an accident and use it on a stolen vehicle.
They also prepared fake documents before selling a car,” Kumar said.
The defendant had been ordered under the relevant section of the Indian criminal code.
