New Delhi: Two passengers, traveling separately, held by CISF personnel at Delhi Airport for allegedly bringing direct bullets with unauthorized allegations, officials said on Monday.
The two interception took place on Sunday at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
In the first case, a senior official said, two 5.56mm caliber bullets recovered from an Indian passenger traveling to Dubai on the Emirates aircraft.
On the second instance, four 7.65mm caliber life bullets were recovered from the passengers who were bound by Guwahati during security checks.
The second passenger had to take an Asian airplane but he was revealed after the recovery of the bullet, the official said.
Because carrying weapons and ammunition on the plane was prohibited and after passengers could not give the government authorization to bring life bullets, they were handed over to the local police who ordered them under the ACT section, he said.
Force Security Industrial Central (CISF) was assigned to secure and provide counter-terrorist protection to IGI airport.
