Thiruvananthapuram: Vizhinjam police have arrested a 62-year-old man because it mistakenly detained others and subdued him to physical torture for more than six hours.
The defendant, was identified as Rajendran Uchakda near Vizhinjam, with illegitimate locked in Austin Raj, a resident of Thirumala, in the former home on Tuesday.
Police said the incident related to this case occurred on Monday afternoon.
Raj tells the police that he previously bought several construction materials from the defendant with a loan.
Because of the financial crisis, there is a delay in paying the amount.
On Monday, Rajendran called Raj to his house at Uchakkada.
After arriving there, he mastered Raj and locked it in the house.
He also locked the scooter Raj using a chain and padlock.
He continued to attack the complainant until evening and even forced him to sign an empty check leaf and a vehicle sales letter to secure the ownership of the scooter to compensate for the losses.
At night, Raj somehow managed to call the police, after they reached the house and released him.
The police had ordered the defendant under the section relating to kidnapping, wrong confinement and caused injury.
Rajendran is then produced in front of the court and is returned in terms of justice.
In a similar case, the Peroorkada police on Tuesday arrested a desired man in connection with the kidnapping and the case of the attack reported a year ago.
The police identified the defendant as Rajesh, 42, from Chettivilakampara.
This case is related to the alleged kidnapping and attack Shiju Choozhampala by Gang Seven Members.
The gang suspected Shiju told the police about their illegal activities involving the provider of marijuana and, therefore attacked him.
The police had previously arrested six people, but Shiju had avoided the arrest until now.
He was arrested from his hiding place in Arancamukal near Ramapuram by a team led by Peroorkada Sho Inspector Anoop Krishnan.
