Chennai: Two people were arrested for kidnapping a man from Gujarat with the help of arms from the army on Thursday.
Aide escaped.
Police said the army, Sebastian Raj, 29, a resident of Sivagangai, touched with one Shakeel from Gujarat as he posted at Jammu and Kashmir.
Shakeel tells him that he will get gold at a cheaper price.
Raj, who believes this, pays it ₹ 20 lakh three months ago.
Shakeel continues to avoid it without giving gold.
Sebastian told his brother John Arokiasamy, about this problem.
Duo hatched plans to kidnap Shakeel.
Both brothers along with two of their friends went to Kutch and asked Shakeel to pay.
Shakeel asked them to talk to his friend, Huzefa, who took care of his golden business.
The kidnappers then met Huzefa and told them that they were police from Tamil Nadu and combined them into the car.
They accommodated him in the cottage on Jalan Raya Chennai-Bengaluru near Sarangvarchiram where they called Shakeel and asked him to take ₹ 10 lakh to release his friend.
Brother Huzefa filed a complaint of the police in Gujarat.
A special team reached SalangaVarchiram and arrested Johnson, one of the kidnappers, and then intercepted John Arokiasamy, who traveled with the victim in the car.
The police have launched a hunting for the army personnel and his friend Mohammad Pattani.
