Rajkot: Police Special Operations Group (SOG) Jamnagar arrested two people with 12 kg of cannabis (marijuana) from Raj Park in Jamnagar on Monday night.
SOG official said the defendant was identified as Hussein Sumrani (31), a resident of Raza Nagar in Jamnagar and Sharif aka Shahrukh Shaikh (24), from Tirupati Nagar in a letter.
The police confiscated Rs 7,450 in cash and three cellphones from the defendant.
Probe revealed that Sharif aka Shahrukh was used to buy contraband goods from one uday in Maharashtra and supply it to Hussein.
“We ordered it under the NDPS law,” said S Ninama, Police Inspector, Jamaangar SOG.
