Bengaluru: Two people have been arrested here with 9,135 tons of red sanders worth Rs 4.5 Crore, who want them to be horrened abroad, police said on Thursday.
According to police, Anand Kumar (51) and Anil Singh (47), the two residents of Bengaluru, were arrested on Wednesday by tip-off.
RAIDs carried out in their warehouse in Bannerghatta in the city dig a red-sanders or red sandalwood.
Police said the duo had smuggled red sanders planted in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Along with Red Sanders, the police confiscated two trucks used for storage and consigning smuggling.
