Hyderabad: A social activist and a journalist from the city complained on Monday that they had also been targeted on the Bicli Bai application, where many women had been distorted and resistant to comment insulting.
This application has now been pulled down.
While Degatan Cybercrime registered a case based on complaints of one of the victims, the second woman had not filed an official complaint, but had tweeted about the incident.
Activists Khalida Parveen filed a complaint to the Cyber crime police in Hyderabad after several unknown people installed their photos in the ‘BULI Bai’ application held by the GitHub platform, encouraging people to participate in the ‘auction’.
“I want to know about my photo uploaded in the application from a friend.
Two days ago, the picture was uploaded in the application and I declared solidarity by condemning illegal acts of offenders.
Yesterday, I knew that my name was.
Also there is in the application and on Monday I filed a complaint with the police asking them to arrest the defendant, “Khalida Parveen said.
He said that the act of installing photos of Muslim women in the application by underestimating was an effort to scare them.
“I think it is an effort to threaten and scare vocal and reasonable Muslim women on social media.
It can also be an effort to divert the focus of people from several other important topics,” said an activist.
Cyber crime ACP KVM Prasad said that a case was registered under Section 67 of the IT Law and Section 509 and 354-D from the IPC.
“This application is installed on the GitHub platform.
It has now been revealed.
We will write to GitHub to get the details accused,” ACP said.
Photo of a Muslim women’s journalist from the city was also uploaded on the same application and after he posted on Twitter about this problem, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi asked City Police to start steps to arrest the offenders.
“I demanded @teanganacmo @Ktrtrs @TelanganaAdGP @cphydcity must immediately catch this bloody termite, symbolic pine is not enough they must be captured, the government must utilize CI & Anti-radical CI services,” Owaici tweeted.
City police respond to MP tweets that say, “Mr., this problem is known and the case will be registered and the action will be taken.”
