Chennai: Two more international passengers, who arrived at Chennai Airport from England, had been positively tested for Covid-19 infection.
So far, 81 passengers are found infected on arrival.
All of their samples were sent to sort the genome to find out whether they were infected with a new variant, Omicron.
Results from 13 samples back.
Only one found that was infected with Omicron and eight infected by the Delta variant and four were categorized as ‘non-in-order’ (meaning that their samples would be repeated).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health Tamil Nadu in his laboratory found a decline in s-genes in 33 of these patients.
“Everything has a mild and fine infection.
They will be sent back once they test negative after seven or eight days,” said Subramanian, Minister of Health.
On Sundays, a total of 610 was tested positive and four died of Covid-19 in the state.
Chennai reported the maximum number of new cases (129).
The capital did not report death after five months.
Although there is an increase in testing in this district, the input rate of tests (TPR) is still below one percent.
This is slightly higher than the TPR country of 0.6%.
There is no vaccination camp on Sunday as a health worker, which is part of the 15th mega tent, given a holiday.
So far, 84% have received their first dose in TN and 54% are fully vaccinated.
