Letter: A producer and film production manager BHOJPURI under production was arrested on Wednesday to shoot a temple in Umargam without getting earlier permission from the authorities.
The police said that they had received information that film shootings took place a temple in Valwada village based on the police team going to check.
“The film crew hasn’t started a shooting, but they have arranged their equipment and will start when we reach,” said a police officer.
When the film producer Sameer Nishar was asked whether permission to take a photo shoot was taken from the authority concerned, he denied after that, he and the production manager of Baijnath aka Bablu Soni was taken to the Bhilad police station and formally ordered and arrested.
KOPS said that this film was produced by Yashi-based film Mumbai Pvt Ltd.
“Previously they shot in Silvassa, but for the order of temples, the crew came to Valsad but did not get the permission needed,” police official said.
He added that members of the production unit did not follow social distance and most of them were without masks.
“When a film is scheduled to be shot, many locals have also gathered at the temple so that there is a big risk of Coronavirus transmission,” police said.
Nishar and Soni were then released by guarantee.
