Jaipur: In the first, two private engineering colleges have given permission to run BTECH in computer science in Hindi from the upcoming session.
Nationally, only 14 universities have been given permission by the All India Board for Technical Education (AICTE) to run BTECH courses in local languages.
Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology and Poornima College of Engineering, both based in Jaipur, have been allowed by 60 seats each in computer science courses.

The administration of the two colleges has begun to train their teachers to translate the terminology into Hindi.
Universities only run technical courses in Hindi.
Rajasthan University Technical also leads by providing all assistance to affiliated colleges.
“We design the syllabus in Hindi to fit the language and also book sources about subjects,” said Ra Gupta, Vicechancellor, RTU.
He added that the trend will increase in the coming years and the impact will be seen in the country’s gross registration ration.
