New Delhi: Two shooters “when Jathedi Gang” were arrested in Northwest Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
Both were 18-year-old children who were previously employed as teenagers in gangs and committed murder and tried to kill rivals.
They left the reform home recently and had been assigned to avenge Gangster’s death killed by Jitender Gogi who was killed by his rival at the Rohini Court in September.
DCP (Northwest) Usha Rangnani said that two pistols, magazines and four cartridges had recovered from the duo.
The stolen bicycle they ramed was also confiscated.
“Arrest was carried out during the implementation of the drive called Operasi ALI, which was intended for crime detention & criminals and dominated the streets so as to reduce street crime.
This operation also seeks to instill confidence and security among citizens,” DCP added.
Under this drive, patrol staff and special picket are deployed for intensive checks.
During this exercise on December 7, a team consisting of Inspector Mohar Singh, the Virender and others were deployed in the Garden Sangam area in Bharat Nagar, when two shooters, Ankit and Aashu, fell on the police net.
They are ordered under the relevant IPC section and under ARM.
During the interrogation, the defendant revealed that they were in touch with Jathedi Syndicate key members who handed over instructions to them and gave them weapons.
“Both are drug addiction,” said DCP.
