BEGUSARA: Two people were killed and three others were injured in the exchange of fire that occurred between two groups of criminals involved in gambling at night Diwali.
According to the police source, the dispute broke out among groups during gambling which resulted in fire exchanges.
The incident occurred around 4am in the Baghi area under the Lohia Nagar police post from the district.
Those who were killed in the incident were identified as Pankaj Kumar and Santosh aka Kishore.
While the PANKAJ is a resident of Nagdah’s locality under the Singhaul Police post, Santosh aka Kishore is a resident of the Samastipur district.
Those who were injured were identified as Prem Kumar aka Babul and Krishna Kumar aka Murari, both residents of Lohia Nagar under the same police post.
While the third person was injured in Balram Mahto’s incident owned by Baghi Mohalla.
Lohia Nagar Police Outpost Sho Ambika Prasad said, “Nine Live cartridges, a number of marijuana in addition to playing cards recovering from the place.
There seems to be a large amount of money involved in gambling which resulted in violence after the dispute.
The injured is undergoing treatment in various private hospitals.”
