Seoul: North and South Korea said on Tuesday, they had restored cross-border communication, more than a year after Pyongyang decided all official hotlines between the two rivals, which were technically still fighting.
North unilaterally cut all the official military and political communication relationships with the South in June last year after the threat of activists who sent anti-pyongyang flyers on the border.
The suspension came with the inter-Korean bond with traffic jams, although there were three peaks between the North Kim Jong PBB and South Moon Jae-in President in 2018.
But in the announcement of surprises, both parties said all communication lines were restored on Tuesday morning.
, “According to the agreement made between the top, north and south leaders took steps to operate all inter-Korean communication liaison lines from 10:00 on July 27,” Report the official news agency North KCNA.
The leaders of both Korea have exchanged private papers since April aimed at increasing bonds, the Moon’s office said in a statement, and agreed to recover the hotline as the first step.
“The two leaders also agreed to restore reciprocal trust between the two Korea as soon as possible and move forward with that relationship again,” he added.
South Korean President Dovish was credited with the mediary of the first summit between North Korea and the US President sat in Singapore in June 2018.
But Pyongyang mostly decided to contact Seoul after the collapse of the KTM and then US President Donald Trump in Hanoi who left nuclear talks with traffic jams.
