Thiruvananthapuram: Residents of excise Thiruvananthapuram Circle have arrested two men and seized nitrazepam pills and ganja from these.
The accused had been identified as Sreejith alias Sreejith Unni, 31, and Adarsh, 22.
Both are citizens of Thirumala.
As many as 50 nitrazepam pills and 100g of ganja were captured by them.
The autorickshaw in which they went was confiscated.
Nitrazepam is a hypnotic medication that’s widely utilised in treating the state of sleeplessness.
Substance Abuse utilize this prescription medication as an inexpensive option to illegal antipsychotic medication.
Officials stated that the accused had been captured on Saturday night by Kundamanbhagam while hauling the materials within an autorickshaw.
The Excise officials that have been assessing vehicles intercepted the automobile and captured the materials.
Excise team inspector C Anilkumar, who headed the group that made the grab, stated that both detained attempted to escape after assaulting the officers.
However, they were able to overpower the duo and apprehend them.
“Unni is an established offender who’s around 20 instances in his title in Poojapura police channel.
Including instances linked to sexual abuse of little, attack on cops and armed assaults in people,” that the CI stated.
The accused were produced before the court on Sunday and have been remanded in judicial custody.
