Thiruvananthapuram: Two men were arrested in the district on Wednesday in separate cases related to sexual harassment of small children.
The arrest was made by Vilappilsala police and Kadakkavoor.
The defendant who was arrested at the Vilappilsala police station was identified as Albert Sunny aka APPU, 24, came from Kanjikuzhi Village in the Idukki District.
He is a construction worker by the profession.
He was allegedly friends with congratulations, a 12th grade student who was under the limit of the Vilappilsala police station, when he arrived here in connection with construction work near his house.
He became acquainted with him and also his family.
He keeps in touch with him through social media and both grow closer.
He even convinced him to send his naked picture during their online chat.
Once, when the girl’s parents were not at home, she reached her house and used her sexually.
The girl reported abuse to the police after the picture she shared with the defendant leaked on social media.
The police said that the image was published online by the defendant with the help of relatives.
After the police registered this case, the defendant escaped.
He was arrested by a team led by VilaPpilsala Station House Officer Inspector N Suresh Kumar from his hiding place in Vellathooval near Munnar.
He was produced in front of the court and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
In a similar incident of Kadakkavoor police arrested Sandeep, 37, from Kavalalayoor to demand sexual assistance by threatening to publish photos of small children online.
The police said that he was arrested based on a complaint submitted by a 16-year-old girl.
The defendant secured his telephone number and developed a relationship with him.
He assured him to share his photos during their chat and then he threatened him to forward the pictures to his family.
The defendant was arrested by a team led by Kadakkavoor Sho Inspector V Rajesh.
