Thiruvananthapuram: The pettah police here on Thursday arrested two men under the protection section of the relevant children from sexual violations (Pocso) acting for alleged stalkers and abuse of a 14-year-old girl.
The police identified the defendant as Akhil, 21, from KadakamPally and Sujith, 31, from Muttathara.
Both accused of friends and daily wage workers by the profession.
The police said that the two men were arrested after receiving complaints from the mother of a 14-year-old school girl.
The complainant stated in his request that he had bought his daughter smartphone to attend online class.
But the girl uses a telephone to create an account in social media applications such as WhatsApp and Instagram.
Akhil met him through Instagram and he began sending obscene messages to him.
When the mother knew about this, she caught the phone from the girl.
But for his surprise, Akhil and Sujith appeared at his house and threatened him.
Follow this that he filed a complaint in front of the police.
The defendant escaped after the police registered the case and launched the probe.
They were held from a hiding place in the city by a team led by Pettah Station House Inspectors Riyas Raja and Sub Inspector P Ratheshesh.
In addition to allegations based on Pocso law, the defendant was also ordered under the section associated with home violations and criminal intimidation.
After the arrest, the defendant was produced in front of the court and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
