Two moral policing incidents in Mandya, Shivamogga

Shivamogga / Mandya: Two incidents of alleged moral policing have been reported from the Shivamogga and Mandya District in the past week, and three people have been arrested in the first case.
The police said the trio was arrested for allegations of abusing a young man for giving a decrease to a woman from another religion in Shivamogga Taluk on Saturday.
The man and woman came from Majjigenahali Village.
The source said the woman ran late at night and the man, who worked as a driver and riding a bicycle, reportedly offered to drive to the city of Shivamogga where he worked.
Three young men from the village followed the duo, stopping them and showered their harassment.
Following the complaint submitted by the man, the police arrested two young men on Saturday and the third on Sundays, according to the BM Laxmi Prasad Police District Supervisor.
In the Mandya incident, a group of young men stopped a man and his sister’s friend who went cycling in Sundahalli Village on Jalan Raya Mysuru-Bengaluru on Wednesday.
They come from different religions.
The police source said the group asked the duo.
Then, the girl’s father rushed to the place and the girl was sent with him, the sources stated.
The incident was revealed only on Sunday after the altercation video became a viral.
Police District Supervisors M Ashwini to Rural Police Toi Mandya will submit FIR after getting court permission.
“According to the information we received so far, the young man was not attacked by the group.
However, we will investigate the incident to bring the truth,” he added.
