NEW DELHI: Pappankalan pond region in Dwarka is going to be turned into a three-lake complicated spread across 25 acres.
The water-holding capability of this newly created lake is going to soon be doubled from 10MGD into 20 MGD while two lakes of 50MGD ability should be installed in its area, stated water ministry Satyendar Jain.
Jain seen Pappankalan sewer treatment plant (STP), Dwarka water treatment plant (WTP) and also the supplemental drain close Rithala STP on Thursday.
In the Dwarka WTP, Jain instructed the officials concerned to improve the manufacturing capacity of this plant by 50 MGD into 70 MGD.
“A pond within a place of 10 acres will soon be assembled within the Dwarka plant to improve groundwater levels,” the ministry said.
He stated,”Different water improvement options are discussed with the officers to improve the generation by 20 MGD.
In addition, a pond at 10 acres of place is going to be assembled in the water treatment plant to improve groundwater levels” The review ended close to the supplementary drain nearby Rithala STP.
Jain stated,”The irrigation and flood management section has assembled a cheap weir to divert untreated sewer of their drain to STP.
This will raise the organic treatment of wastewater in almost any jogging drain and decrease pollutant load flowing to the lake.
Much like weir systems will likely be duplicated throughout Delhi.” The Pappankalan lake job will be utilised as a prototype to produce new artificial lakes around STPs, ” a senior officer said.
“The water to this particular lake has been mined from Pappankalan STP, that’s the most innovative sewer treatment plant being conducted by water usefulness.
The water in the treatment plant was designed to pass via a tertiary filter plus nutrient filter.
The quality of water is significantly superior than the normal limitation of BOD: TSS 10:10.
The amount of chemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS) is about 5-6 units,” the official added.
Another official stated that later on, the chance of groundwater extraction may also be researched.
