Ahmedabad: The total number of detention zones in the city has touched four with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation declaring two more micro detention zones in the city on Wednesday.
Six houses with 20 residents in one of the housing community blocks in Shreyas Tekra in Navrangpura were brought based on micro detention.
The second micro detention zone consists of eight houses with 18 residents located in the Polytechnic in Ambawadi.
On November 12, the Civic body has brought one block of housing society in the Mothera area in Chandkheda under micro detention.
The block has 20 houses with 76 residents.
On November 11, six months after the Civic body stopped the practice of declaring a micro detention zone, AMC placed an apartment block in Isanpur in the micro detention zone.
AMC has stopped the practice of placing buildings in the Micro Detention Zone in the last week of May.
However, the practice has continued as Gujarat and Ahmedabad marking the trend of increasing in the case of Covid.
Home surveillance starting today because the case rises, civil bodies will start the supervision and filtering of houses to the house to detect Covid cases starting from Thursday.
“Our team will visit houses located near the Covid case where Covid has been reported and carried out screening to detect any symptoms of the disease,” said a health department official.
He said that testing would also be done if they knew the symptoms.
