Patna: Two people from the Kapurthala in Punjab died after after a multiutility vehicle (MUV) where they traveled to fall into a roadside trench within 20 feet in the NH-57 near Hanuman Nagar in Benibad in Muzaffarpur on Sunday.
The police said the vehicle was commotion to surpass recognition.
The deceased was identified as Jageshwar Shah, 50, and Kapildev Kumar, 30.
ASI Mithilesh Jha said the accident occurred around 6am.
Jageshwar belongs to Mast Nagar in Narang Shahpur and Kapildev are residents of Street Number 2 in New Mansadevi Nagar, both in the Satnampura area in the city of Phagwara in the district of Kapurthala, Punjab.
Jha said there was a sharp turn near the accident site.
“It looks like Kapildev, who drove MUV, failed to see the turn or might fall asleep,” he said.
He said Kapildev died in place and Jageshwar to the Gaighat Primary Health Center.
ASI said the police managed to contact the owner of the Balwindar Kaur vehicle in Kapurthala, who said Kapildev was his close friend and went to Purnia.
“Balwindar said Kapildev traveled to bring his wife and children to Kapurthala.
The purpose of Jageshwar’s travel is still unclear,” he said.
ASI said the corpse was preserved after postmortem.
