Salem: Two people were killed in many incidents in the district on Wednesday night and Thursday.
Prhasan Kumar Mandel, 37, from West Bengal, was killed by his friend, D Sundaram, 49, on Wednesday night.
Prasan works in a granite factory near Panamarathupatti, on the outskirts of the city.
On Wednesday night, the prighter came to Sundaram’s house and consumed liquor with him.
When Sundaram went to buy a bottle of liquor at around 10:30 a.m.
from the black market, the prighter tried to rape Sundaram’s wife Jothhi.on returning home, Sundaram found the prighter trying to rape Jothi.
In anger, Sundaram pampered good at death using a wooden log.
Sundaram surrendered at the Bernanhanapi police station on Thursday morning.
The police restored the body and sent it to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital (SGMKMCH) for postmortem.
A case of his daughter’s registered Kavitha found the body when she came to visit her mother.
The body was sent to SGMKMCH for postmortem.
The initial question revealed that the killer had stolen five sovereign gold chains after killing Alamelu.
“We have formed a special team led by Selvam ADSP to accuse the defendant,” SP District Sri Abhinav, who visited the crime.
The case is registered by the Karipatty police.
