Ahmedabad: Two young men were given pnified by a group of six men at Sabarmati Riverfront in the Asmanpura region in the city.
Both Victims – Ruhan Shaikh, 28, who have a clothing store in Mirzapur, and his friend Naushad Ajmeri, 26, residents of Kagdiwad – seriously injured.
Two of their friends – Panchal Prajit, from Usmanpura, and Parshwa Sheth, from Naranpura – not attacked by six unknown men.
Panchal and Sheth saved their friends and took him to the hospital.
According to FIR submitted with the police Sabarmati Riverfront (West), the four friends sat on the banks of the Sabarmati River behind Dr.
Vikram Sarabhai’s house and played on their cellphones on Thursday night.
Six men, between 20 and 30 years old, then arrived there and began to abuse Shaikh and Ajemeri alone.
They grabbed them and beat them badly.
After this, one of them took out the knife and slashed Shaikh in his hands and shoulders.
He then slashed the Ajmeri on his back several times.
Ajmeri then fell and the people accused of kicking and pouring him until he fell unconscious, pine countries.
When he heard Rona and cry, the locals rushed to the place and the men escaped.
Panchal and Sheth called the ambulance and took them to the Asarawa civil hospital.
Both Shaikh and Ajmeri have been treated in the center of trauma and said to be stable.
All Indian Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslim (Aimim) City and spokesman for advocate Shamshad Pathhan accused that the right-wing group was behind the attack.
Pathhan said the two men were attacked after the attackers asked their names and this was a racial crime.
He said Aimim would give a memorandum to the DGP who asked for a complaint of the murder attempted.
Sabarmati Riverfront (West) Police registered the case of injured, and fir it did not mention it becoming a racial crime.
Sabarmati Riverfront (West) Police Inspector V M Desai is not available for comments.
