Erode: Erode District Police Inspector V Sasimohan has moved special sub-inspectors and police chief to armed reserves to take bribes.
SSI and constable head have been identified as Vadivel, 50, and Chandramohan, 46, respectively.
Both of them served at the Asanur checkpoint at the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border on July 2.
They intercept the car coming from Karnataka.
Duo found a bottle of liquor in a car smuggled from Karnataka.
“They released a car without grabbing Karnataka liquor,” said a police officer at the Erosi SP District Office.
He also said that the duo had received bribes from occupants in the car transferred through Google Pay.
SP knows about this problem after he ordered an investigation department.
“As long as the question, it was confirmed that the duo had received a bribe through Google Pay,” the officer said, adding that the duo also claimed to be their crime.
SP said tight action will begin against the duo.
